Login to the Texas Inventionworks canvas site for all training classes and updated information on how to get trained.

  • Note on group training: If you have a large group that needs in-person training on equipment and are unable to have them successfully sign-up for their training through canvas bookings, you can request a seperate training for your group through this form and we will do our best to try and accommodate your request.

OH 500 Online Safety Training must be completed before attending Machine Shop, CNC or Wood Working Training.

Here is an overview of how to access different equipment at TIW:

Filament 3D Printer (Bambu Lab P1P) 

  • Take the online canvas training
  • Then, show up to an on-site training offered on the even hours during TIW Open Hours. 
  • Onsite training takes approximately 1 hour.

Advanced Filament 3D Printer (Raise3d)

  • Take the online canvas training
  • Students cannot operate the Raise3D printers, but instructions on how to submit your files to be printed by staff will be included in online training.

Laser Cutter

  • Take the online canvas training
  • Then, sign-up for on-site training (you can do this in canvas after you complete the online training).
  • Onsite training takes approximately 1 hour
    Proper attire required: long pants and closed toe shoes

Breadboard & Soldering

  • Take the online canvas training
  • Then, sign-up for on-site training (you can do this in canvas after you complete the online training).
  • Onsite training takes approximately 1 hour
  • Completing the online + on-site training also gives you access to E1 resources & materials 

Vinyl Cutter & Sewing

  • Sign-up for in-person trainings on canvas (these do not have online training).
  • Onsite training takes approximately 1 hour

CNC Mill Training (Tormach)

  • Take the online canvas training (OH 500 Safety Training also required - details on how to complete this in Canvas)
  • Then, sign-up for on-site training (you can do this in canvas after you complete the online training).
  • Takes approximately 2 hours
  • Proper attire required: long pants and closed toe shoes
