Project Space
Lockers and Storage Boxes
We offer a limited amount of storage options in Texas Inventionworks (TIW) for individuals or groups to store their belongings or materials related to any ongoing projects. Lockers and storage boxes are given out on a first-come, first-served basis and are cleared out after each semester unless an extension is requested. No food or backpacks are allowed to be stored.
Workbenches
For long-term, more established projects, we offer several workbenches in a keycard-accessible lab space on the second floor of TIW.
Funding
Each semester, Texas Inventionworks offers several project grants for students to cover the cost of materials. Grants typically range from $100 to $1000, depending on the scope of each project. We welcome a range of project types and encourage students to pursue passion projects with the Maker Grant. Visit a professional staff member to learn more.
Skill Development and Mentorship
Staff Office Hours
During TIW open hours, students are encouraged to come into our space and ask any of our friendly student staff members for advice on a project or use of the equipment. Stop by The Garage room on the first floor to visit the welcome desk.
Workshops and Build Nights
Throughout the year, we host different workshops and build nights for students to develop their technical skills on our equipment beyond their basic training.
Made something cool at Texas Inventionworks?
Whether it's something you worked on in a class, for fun, in a group, or by yourself, we want to see it (big and small).
