Paradigm Robotics, a Texas Inventionworks-supported start-up team, won two awards at the 2024 SXSW for their Firebot.
Paradigm Robotics, was founded by UT Austin electrical and computer engineering student Sidd Thakur and co-founders Krishnan Ram (M.S., ME) and James Mahon VI (B.S., ECE). The team recently won both the 2024 SXSW Pitch Competition Student Start-up Award and the Student Innovation Award for their firefighting robot, called Firebot.
With a mission to advance firefighters' safety, Paradigm Robotics’ Firebot is the world's first high-temperature resistant robot for structural fires. It searches for signs of human life and identifies hazardous situations so firefighters don’t have to.
Texas Inventionworks has been supporting the development of Firebot since 2021 with a dedicated workspace, technical support and mentorship.
